Bellringing at St Peter's ChurchPractice Night: Tuesday 7.30-9.00Sunday Service Ringing: Second Sunday 10:00am, and for occasional extra services. Tower Captain: Nick Parkes (email: email@example.com) The current group of some 10 ringers was formed in July 2006. There is a happy and relaxed atmosphere at our weekly practice and we welcome new recruits and visitors. The 6 bells are widely acknowledged to be one of the most pleasant rings in the area. They were rehung and augmented in 1952 by Taylors of Loughborough. Our oldest bell was cast by Henry Oldfield of Nottingham in 1606.Most of our ringers are members of the North Notts District of the Southwell and Nottingham Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers (http://www.southwelldg.org.uk/) and we regularly ring at other local churches.
At Christmas time, some of our group ring carols on handbells for the carol service - and also in the Blue Bell Inn! In 2008 we released a CD recording to raise funds for the church: East Drayton Handbell Ringers "Christmas Bells" CD1 As With Gladness, Men Of Old2 Good King Wenceslas3 Jingle Bells4 See Amid The Winter’s Snow5 I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In6 The Moon Shines Bright7 Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day8 It Came Upon The Midnight Clear9 Joy To The World10 Ding Dong Merrily On High11 This Is The Truth Come From Above12 The Sussex Carol13 Past Three O’Clock14 Earth Has Many A Noble City15 The Seven Joys Of Mary16 Quem Pastores Laudavere17 O Come, All Ye Faithful18 We Wish You a Merry Christmas19 East Drayton Church Bells: Norwich Surprise Minor
